The Southington Water Department, along with Tata & Howard, the Department’s engineering consultant completed the Reservoir #2 Gate Chamber Improvement Project on December 22, 2020.  The work involved safety improvements to the chamber, the replacement of valve stems and guides along with the replacement and refurbishment of five gate valves.  The chamber structure and gate valves dated back as far as 1884 and 1910 which created a challenging environment for the contractor.  Thank you to Dayton Construction did a great job, we thank them for their professional attention to detail.

These improvements will allow the Department to efficiency manage reservoir resources for another hundred years.
